The Pine Ridge fire is 35% contained with over 13,000 acres burned. As you see by the map at the information link above, the east flank of the fire remains active and the Mesa County Sheriff advises DeBeque area residents to remain on alert. Firelines are holding on the west flank and firefighters are building a line toward the north flank. The fire has not crossed the Colorado River and those lines are expected to hold.
According to Incident Commander Bill Hahnenberg full containment is expected by Thursday.
