Colorado, gas well drilling

On February 27, the Poudre Canyon Group of the Sierra Club and Clean Water Action sent a letter to the Colorado Oil and Gas Association (COGA) calling this statement in Governor Hickenlooper’s PSA incorrect: “Since then [2008] we have not had one instance of groundwater contamination associated with drilling and hydraulic fracturing.” The letter includes a long list of spill reports since 2008. The letter was signed by Shane Davis, Chair of the Poudre Canyon Group of the Sierra Club, and Dr. Gary Wockner, Colorado Program Director for Clean Water Action. Click here to read the letter.
